About
I am a chartered clinical psychologist and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I have worked in private practice and a range of public mental health settings for 20 years. As a clinical psychologist I have trained in different therapeutic modalities but have specialised as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. I see adults for a range of difficulties, but have a special interest in issues of sexuality, masculinities and femininities. I also offer supervision to psychodynamic practitioners.
As well as my clinical work, I am involved in a number of professional activities. I am a Trustee of the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF), and Chair of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association within the BPF. I was previously a member of the Board of Trustees of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) from 2019 to 2024. I am a member of the BPC Scholars Network, a committee member of the BPC Task Group on Sexual and Gender Diversity within Psychoanalysis. I was the recipient of the Bernard Ratigan Award for Diversity in Psychoanalysis in 2021.

I currently sit on the editorial board of the journals Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society, and have previously been on several other journal editorial boards. For many years I worked as an academic and have been involved in the training of clinical psychologists, psychodynamic counsellors and psychotherapists. I continue to teach on a number of psychotherapy trainings.
